Electrical engines, fuel cells

A German company is working on the development of power systems based on fuel cells. In the first step the company concentrates on self-sufficient power supply units for decentralized applications in the traffic and safety engineering as well as in telecommunications.

Uninterruptible power supply (UPS) with fuel cell technology

What we offer

A German company has 45 years of experience in the development and construction of
Buchholz relays for transformers, monitoring relays for stepping switch and other safety devices for liquid-cooled and insulated units.
The company is working on a project of the development of power systems which are operated with fuel cells.
In the first stage of this product family self-sufficient power supply units with different benefits for decentralized applications such as traffic control and safety technology, telecom cell tower supply and automotive industry are offered for costumers.
An application is an uninterruptible power supply, called a UPS system, that is used as an "emergency supply" when the actual main power supply has failed or is not available. In this case, an emergency power supply for 6 hours can be realized. The maximum electrical power should be 1kW. Additional performance measures will be developed in a project.
Especially in the "outdoor area" weather-resistant, reliable UPS systems that can bridge a prolonged power failure are missing. Thus, existing needs could be satisfied via the development of a low-maintenance and environmentally friendly fuel cell UPS system.
In a UPS with fuel cell technology, the electrical energy is produced from hydrogen. One advantage of UPS powered by fuel cells in comparison to conventional alternatives is that the reaction process directly converts chemical energy into electrical energy and therefore operates with a very high efficiency.
We are looking for new opportunities for the application of these systems. With the potential partner, a new proof of functionality should be provided so that this product meets the quality requirements of various customers.

What we are looking for

The potential partners should be interested in the technology to apply it into new applications to develop new products.
In the first step they would concentrate on self-sufficient power supply units for decentralized applications in the traffic and safety engineering as well as in telecommunications.
