The IMARE is a limited liability company in Bremerhaven in the North of Germany. In accordance with its memorandum of association, it was granted the temporary status of a non-profit-making organisation by the tax office of Bremerhaven on Jan 19, 2009. As proprietors are listed: the research support association of Bremen (VFwF), the Alfred Wegener Institute, Helmholtz centre for Polar and Marine Research in Bremerhaven, and the Bremerhaven University of Applied Sciences. IMARE is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the State of Bremen.
IMARE has three departments: Marine Aquaculture, Bionic Lightweight Design and Wind Energy.

What we offer

We develop technical solutions regarding environmental impacts on and of offshore wind farms.
We can rely on the expertise of our engineers and biologists.

Our main areas of research are
- microbial induced corrosion (early detection)
- environmental monitoring (Avifauna)
- biofouling (protection and classification)

We also offer services in
- atmospheric (offshore conditions) and marine outdoor weathering
- guidance and development of projects (e.g. funding)

What we are looking for
