The company FiberCheck GmbH strives to be a pioneer in the practical monitoring of smart materials in the field of fiber composites. The primary field of application is the monitoring of rotor blades and the output optimization of wind turbines.

With the FiberCheck monitoring system damages to rotor blades of wind turbines can be detected in due time, so that greater damage is avoided and a condition-based maintenance can take place.

The FiberCheck GmbH is the result of an interdisciplinary cooperation of innovation oriented research teams at the Chemnitz University of Technology. The technical University of Chemnitz comprises of a high level of competence in the field of sensor technology, electrical engineering as well as in structural lightweight. These competencies combines the FiberCheck GmbH, a spin-off of the Chemnitz University of Technology, , with the following aim: The monitoring of lightweight components made of fiber composite material using innovative sensor technology.
